This is a 1 hour consultation during which key body circumference measurements and body composition readings along with before picture are recorded. This consultation includes interpretation of the body composition readings and SMART body transformation goal setting. It is critical to record these at the commencement of or at any point in any new Nutrition or exercise program in order to begin the process of tracking results. What is a BFBC Progress Tracker Body Diagnostic Consultation ?

This is a monthly recording of body circumference measurements and body composition readings to track and chart results as you progress towards your goals. This also includes coaching about what to eat how to eat and recommended lifestyle changes to speed up results or tweaking in the case of lack of results.

Why The Emphasis on Body Composition?

The human body consists of 4 major components:

  1. Muscle mass for mobility
  2. Bone mass for structural support
  3. Body water % / mass for cushion and to create a fluid environment for cell processes
  4. Body fat % / mass (energy in storage form, extra baggage)

Of these 4 only one is disposable and that is Body Fat Mass. So SMART goals TYPICALLY would be built around adjusting the ratio of muscle mass to body fat. By torching FAT and toning/building muscle we can effectively transform our body and reduce metabolic age. Metabolic age is actually a great yardstick to measure health. The goal is to be living in a 12 year old body regardless of age. This is what is meant by the phrase "Defying The Aging Process". It's important to understand the universal law where muscle is concerned 'If you don't use it you lose it!" Age related muscular atrophy! This is as close to a discovery of the fountain of youth as we can get since a natural part of the aging process is this age related muscular atrophy. This is the reason its important as we age to build and tone muscle to remain youthful as well as functional. Hence the reason why the older we get the more important it is to do weight training to build muscle. Cardio no doubt is important for a healthy cardiovascular system and we tend to have a disregard for the amount of cardio  we do because we are essentially like a new car with everything fine tuned and purring. But as we get older we may want to consider the  reason why the first thing we check when buying a used car is MILEAGE. In other words as we age mileage becomes an important consideration. Of course the human body is different from a automobile in the sense that it can rebuild itself if we provide it with the wherewithal to do so But in this day and age for various reasons that becomes a whole other challenge in itself. More on that later but for now it is important to understand that weight is just a number. 

Weight Is Just a Number

So weight alone is not a clear indicator of good health because it does not distinguish between pounds that come from the various body components like body fat, body water, bone mass and those that come from lean body mass or muscle. Carrying too much fat is a condition called obesity, and puts a person at risk for many serious medical conditions including heart disease, diabetes and even certain forms of cancer. Not All Pounds Are the Same

Overweight means an excess of total body weight based on population averages for heights and body frame sizes. Athletes and very muscular people may be overweight, but that does not mean they are unhealthy or at risk. Obesity means an excess of specifically body fat regardless of weight. So from a health standpoint body weight is just a number. The key question is how is that weight composed!


Men A, B and C are exactly the same height. A and B have the same weight, and C weighs considerably more. For his height C appears to be fat. But after analyzing body composition, B and C have acceptable body fat percentages with good muscle mass while A has above the healthy range of body fat with low muscle mass and is therefore at a higher health risk.

Note : We utilize the most accurate body composition measuring tool, The Tanita Body Composition Analyzer. In order to obtain the most accurate results the following conditions must be met:

  1. No alcohol 48 hours before test.
  2. Avoid intense exercise 12 hours before test.
  3. Avoid eating or drinking (especially caffeinated products) 4 hours before test.
  4. Empty bladder 30 minutes before test.
  5. Avoid all diuretics for 7 days before test if possible.
  6. Test must be taken at least 3 hours after waking.
  7. Illness at the time of measurement may affect individual hydration level, which may affect overall results.
